During his visit to Pune for a program organized by the Maharashtra State Council of Educational Research and Training, Kesarkar interacted with journalists.
He stated, “Due to the uncertain recruitment process, many schools in various districts have been facing a shortage of teachers. Now that the stay on recruitment has been lifted, the hiring process will begin. An official notification will be issued in this regard, and it may take about a month to complete the process.”

Regarding the decision to rehire retired teachers, the government has received suggestions from various levels.
Kesarkar said, “For the new teachers to be recruited, they will have the option to choose the district where they want to work. Hence, retired teachers will be appointed on a temporary basis to fill the gap for a period of one to three months.”
Retired teachers possess years of experience, making them suitable to provide quality education to students even during the interim period. Once the new teachers are recruited, they will be immediately appointed to their respective positions. As a part of the recruitment process, teachers will be allocated to aided schools under the jurisdiction of the district council.
